As Westport prepares for this fall’s elections, Bike Westport invites all candidates for local office to join us for a Candidate Walk & Talk along one of our town’s most important corridors: from Downtown to Saugatuck.
This short walk of approximately 45 minutes will highlight the opportunities and challenges of making Westport safer and more connected for everyone—whether walking to school, biking to the train, or moving between downtown and our neighborhoods. Along the way, we’ll discuss the Pledge for a Walkable, Bikeable Westport, and offer you the chance to sign on in support.
Event details:
📍 Starting point: Westport Library
➡️ Route: Library to Saugatuck via Riverside Avenue corridor
☕ 🥐 Refreshments at Kneads Bakery at end of walk.
📅 Sunday, October 12 - 9am (Oct 19 rain date)
This is a chance to see firsthand how walkability and bikeability impact daily life in Westport and to connect with community members who care deeply about the town’s future.
We hope you’ll join us to walk the corridor, share your perspective, and show your support for a healthier, safer, more vibrant Westport.
