All three candidates for First Selectman have signed the Pledge

We're happy to share the news that all three candidates for First Selectman have signed the Pledge for a Walkable + Bikeable Westport, and at Sustainable Westport's First Selectman Discussion on Sustainable & Environment all three candidates for First Selectman promised that they "will extend what has been done for walkability and bikeability in Westport with more effort, budget, money and resources."

“As somebody who walks 8-10 miles a day, I know how important it is for pedestrian safety the more sidewalks we can put in, the better. We should just have more sidewalks and more bike lanes.”

“It is imperative that we make the town more walkable, we add more sidewalks, make it more bikeable. One of the first things I would be focusing on is to make sure we add sidewalks and increase bikeability.”

“I definitely support a more walkable and bikeable town, whether it be on town-owned roads or state roads. The opportunity to connect neighborhoods so families have peace of mind as their kids can go from one street, up Compo Road North, and have peace of mind that their kids are safe. More walkability and bikeability, [means a] healthier town and theoretically reduces traffic. So I’m very supportive of that and Bike Westport and their Pledge as well.”
